MDM Validations not active in Portal

Hi,

I created A simple validation to check a value from a field in MDM Data Manager.

it works fine.

However, when i check the same via EP which is connected to my MDM system. the validation is not reflected.

My assumption was any validation that you create in MDM will automatically work in portal environment as well..is this wrong, if so what should i do to make my mdm validation active in Portal?

Note: we are not using standerd iviews in portal.
